Drinkwell Platinum Fountain 1-Gallon System
My cats love it & so do I!!!
I have a lot of cats. They drink a lot of water.
I love the add-on reservoir & the filters are great.
I also have automatic feeders purchased thru
Drs Foster & Smith. As long as I have cats I
will have the fountain & the feeders.

I've had a Drinkwell Platinum fountain for over five years that has performed perfectly and is still going strong. Added a second more recently, and it is equally well made. My water is very hard mountain well water, and it takes out appliances like coffee makers and irons very quickly, so this longevity speaks volumes about the quality of this product.
The only negative that I can report is that because the natural water level comes so close to the lip, water ends up on the floor in front of the fountain anytime the dogs drink from the fountain. It's fine for the cats; they tend to drink out of the stream mostly but don't splash around so much when drinking out of the bowl part, so it stays perfectly dry when the dogs aren't in the fountain.

Definitely worth every penny
The Drinkwell Platinum Fountain has been the best investment I have made for my cats. I have many cats that range in age from 2 to 15 years. One of my 15 year old cats has sight problems since birth as well as my 2 year old. Both of them find the running water by sound and will drink heartily. My other cats like to see the running water and it encourages them to drink also. I have one that insists on giving his mouse a "bath". He takes great pleasure in placing his mouse in the water, taking it out, and throwing it up in the air! The fountain has charcoal filters which assures me they are getting fresh filtered water constantly. The price of the replacement filters is very reasonable also. I would highly recommend this to any pet owner who is concerned about pollutants in the water system. When it's time to change the filter, my cats look for the fountain and can't wait for it to return. I love it.

For the last six years my Skye terrier, Ella, has enjoyed the cascade of water in this drinking fountain. She much prefers this to drinking from a plain old water dish. Maintenance is simple. Just make sure the water reservoir always has some water in it, and that the charcoal filters are changed at the prescribed intervals. Once a week, I wash the whole apparatus, (after disconnecting from the electricity supply), in water, with a couple of splashes of dish washing detergent plus a little Chlorox, to prevent the growth of algae in the water. I dry it , inside and out, with paper towels. This ingenious little device has served us well for about six years, and is still going strong.
