Placing Your Cat's Bed
Where you place your cat's bed is entirely up to you and your cat. Just remember it is her resting place, so it's best not to place it in a high traffic area of your home. Many pet owners prefer a location near where they spend much of their time, so their companion is always nearby. Remember to place the bed away from drafts and colder areas, which may make your pet uncomfortable.

I had a cat that hid under the bed for a year. I was very concerned that she would only come out to eat and use the cat box. So we moved her out of the bedroom and closed the door to the bedroom. We gave her her own room with a cat tree, windows and all the comforts of cat life, including this cube which she just adores. She hides in her cube when she needs to, but now she comes downstairs and interacts with the rest of the family and even goes outside on the deck. I believe this hideaway cat bed made the difference in giving her the courage to come out of hiding, knowing that she has her own room and hiding place where she can go when she's scared.
