Ventilation Tips
Use cooling fans during summer, in warm areas with little or no air movement, or in areas with equipment that generates excess heat.
Maximize air movement in an enclosed area with two cooling fans instead of one unit. Place one unit on one end to introduce cool, fresh air and the other unit on the opposite end to exhaust the warm air. The cross-ventilation will efficiently reduce heat generated by aquarium equipment.
If placing cooling fan in cabinet, the cabinet MUST have an open back for proper ventilation

For $20 bucks, it beats buying a chiller. Honestly had my 24G at 86F and by blowing these across the water between the halide and water lowered the water to 79F. Even if they don't drop your water this much, it's worth a try. Like I said, beats a chiller by hundreds of dollars. They're pretty quiet, too!
I bought this fan to help with evaporitive cooling on my 55 gallon reef, this is a good fan for the price. My tank has been running normally around 84 F, it's now staying steady at 80 F. It fits nice on my under tank sump.
I have a 30 gallon reef tank w/250 w HQI and 2x24w T5s. Before adding cooling fans, tank temp would soar from 79 to at least 84 within a few hours of lights turning on. With dual fans blowing under the HQI, temp stays at 80 all day. Amazing.
My nano cube retains a lot of heat since everything is closed in. Chillers were way out of my price range. I purchased the four fan unit, and it works great. It solved my temperature problem, and saved me hundreds of dollars. It's quiet and I highly recommend this product.
Don't take the quality of your tap water for granted. If you draw your water from a well, nature may not be providing you the perfect balance. If you are using tap water from your municipal department, it likely includes minerals and additives.
Algae are prolific and opportunistic organisms that take advantage of aquarium systems that are out of balance. Water quality issues create ideal conditions for algae. This article explains how proper water quality helps control algae.
