Quickly and easily keep your bird's food and food debris where you want it - inside the cage. Designed for use in conjunction with Smart Crocks and In & Out Smart Crocks, the Smart Guard Quick Locking Shield easily slips between the Smart Crock Cup Mount and cage bars to provide instant protection for your carpets and floors. Purchase several and mount wherever your bird tends to scatter food or other debris outside his cage. Constructed of nontoxic, transparent plastic, the large shield doesn't limit your view into or your bird's view out of the cage. Large, 10" diameter size works great for even the most determined seed flicker. Top rack dishwasher safe. Also has a manufacturer's limited lifetime replacement guarantee.

Assembling your Locking Shield
When used in conjunction with our Smart Crocks, simply place the Smart Crock Cup mount flanges through the 1" diameter hole in the Smart Guard Quick Locking Shield and attach to your bird's cage by sticking the remaining edges of the Cup mount flanges between two bars of your bird's cage. Twist the Smart Crocks' threaded cap onto the flanges. Gently, but firmly, tighten the cap until the Smart Guard Quick Locking Shield and Smart Crocks are secured to the cage.

To mount shield by itself, simply place shield in desired place on cage, straddle fastener flanges over two bars in bird's cage, then place threaded cap onto the flanges on the outside of the cage and tighten.

When used with other feeding and watering dishes, locate a suitable mounting location above the bird's food, water, and/or treat cups. Attach the Smart Guard Quick Locking Shield to your bird's cage by placing one of two included large washers on the included bolt. Place the bolt through the 1" diameter opening on the Smart Guard Quick Locking Shield. Then, place the bolt tip between two bar cages and slip the remaining included large washer over the bolt. Screw the included wing nut onto the bolt end. Finger-tighten the washer to keep the Smart Guard Quick Locking Shield in place. It is recommended that you gently, but firmly, further tighten the bolt using a flat-head screwdriver.

Cleaning your Locking Shield
Disassemble the Smart Guard Quick Locking Shield from your cage by using the reverse of the above instructions. Place the 10" diameter shield on the top rack of your dishwasher or hand wash in warm, soapy water. Please ensure all soap has been rinsed from the shield. Dry the shield thoroughly. Return the Smart Guard Quick Locking Shield to the cage by following the above instructions.
