Another great air pump
I can not say for sure but given the size and output as well as the output nozzles size that these may be the same as the DY-40 that went bad on me after two winters here in Chicago. This pump puts out a lot and I think for a medium to small sized pond they work very well. I have 4 larger sand stones being about 4 foot down. I would not hesitate to buy this pump again as it seems to be a very good value next to the prices of some other pumps I have seen. 5 stars should say all you need to know.

excellent air pump ; I have one on at all times. Has lasted all Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter and still going strong.
I feel this air pump is doing such a good job keeping my Koi healthy that I purchased a back up identical pump. It has been on all winter and does a significantly better job at keeping an air hole for the fish than the 2 heaters I have in the pond. The heaters could not withstand the freezing temperatures of this winter and both failed. I am so thankful for this pump; it is working hard in long weeks of below freezing weather.I did purchase additional tubing and a bigger air stone to make it more effective.

This product bubbles the pond surface open
I have the pondmaster pumps on 5 of my customer's ponds in addition to a heater. It's the amount of air they produce that really keeps the
pond surface from icing over here in the Northeast. I'm in upstate NY and it's zero degrees. A heater alone does not keep the surface free of ice. I like using the pondmaster without the diffuser, just a flex air tube weighted down with a stone for maximum surface bubbles. You can insert this unit into a 5-gal. pail to protect it from being smothered in several feet of snow!
