Natra Pet Bird Bath Spray 16 oz 5 5 3 3

Really helps with dry, itchy skin! I bought this product to try on my Quaker who picks/chews her feathers and has always had dry, itchy skin (even with 50%+ humidity in the house). I am VERY pleased with this product and it seems to be helping to improve (along with changes made to her diet) my bird's skin and feather condition. I have noticed that her skin is smooth and and her feathers are clean and soft - not too mention how great she smells. I soak my bird in the shower 2-3x/week and immediately put her under a bird lamp to dry. I LOVE that there isn't any alcohol or chemicals in this product (though reading through the ingredient list, you would think there is) and contains Purcellin oil, lanolin, wheat germ oil, aloe, and vitamins A, D, and E. I will definitely be recommending this product and will be buying the larger bottle from now on! January 12, 2012

Natra Pet Bird Bath Spray Rating Very High We've used this bird bath spray for the last 6 years. We are so glad to see that Foster's and Smith still carries it. We buy the large size and transfer some to the smaller size bottle, because it's easier to take out' doors. Our birds bath outside in this warm Arizona weather and love to preen and cherp as they feel fresh and clean. Our Lory gets sprayed and then he dives into his bath tub,,, water about 2" deep and rolls around. the Parakeets just like the mist... of Natra spray. I'd recommend this product to any and all bird owners. I give it 5 stars/ October 31, 2011

The Best Bird Bath spray! We recently purchased the Natra Pet Bird Bath spray for the first time and used it on our cockatiels. We absolutely love the product. Our birds Sunny & Angel have not been scratching and biting themselves after using this great smelling spray. In addition, I noticed that Angel, (our special adopted cockatiel), used to have a musty odor since the first day. Not anymore. No other spray, or sink bath was able to eliminate that odor, until this spray. She now smells fresh & clean, I would recommend this above any other bathing spray. January 31, 2011

How to keep from spraying into bird's eyes & nares?

In the directions for use for Natra Pet Bird Bath Spray it says to be sure not to spray into the bird's eyes or nares (beak). How does one do that? I don't think my parrot would let me put a paper bag over his head. Even less likely for my canary or finches. --Thanks.

I have a Quaker that is a feather picker and find that the Natra Pet Bird Bath Spray is truly helping her dry and itchy skin. Unfortunately, she still doesn't look forward to getting sprayed even though we've been doing this 2-3x/week for ~1.5 months now and I try to make it a positive experience. I put her on the shower perch and use one hand to shield her face while spraying her with the other. She is constantly moving around because she wants to keep an eye on the spray bottle, so it takes some patience on my part. I don't actually hold my hand on her face or grab her head to hold her still (don't think it would work anyway), but hold my hand as close to her face with my fingers held together as I can possibly get. Then, depending on where I am spraying (back, chest, under wings, etc), I adjust my hand to shield her eyes and nares. As for your canary or finches, I am not sure what the best way would be as I can see them flying into the droplets or looking up as the droplets are falling down, but hope this helps for your parrot.

I can definitely see where you are coming from with this question. When using this product it is suggested that you cover their face. I don't have birds myself, but I do have kids, and I can imagine that getting a bird to let you cover their face is a lot like getting a child to do what you want them to when it isn't what they want. Another way you can attempt to avoid their eyes and nares is by spraying them from behind. And although it is going to be a pretty wide mist as you are supposed to spray from 6 to 8 inches away from your bird, you could try to aim to low enough where it isn't going near their face (depending on how big your parrot is, as if it is a smaller breed, that isn't going to be as easy). I think it would be great to hear some other customers give their opinions on it, as well as let you know how they got it to work for their bird.
