I was looking for a pond fish feeder that I could depend on and think this is the one. The Koi Cafe is well built and rather heavy (around 12 pounds). The inside mechanics that distribute the food are also sturdy and made out of metal. The timer allows you to make 5 different feeds per day with the feeding duration from 1 to 59 seconds. The inside mechanism that regulates product flow can handle small to large sized feed. You will need to set some time aside to determine the proper amount of feed to distribute by playing with the feed duration timer and the dispenser opening size to obtain the optimal amount of feed based on your needs.
Finally this is a solidly built and heavy feeder. Setting up a hanging bracket that will support the Koi Cafe could be a challenge. I went with 1/2" metal plumbing pipe and anchored the vertical pipe inside a 3/4" sleeve in the ground. This allows adequate support and also permits you to swing the feeder around to reload. The 1/2" horizontal pipe section that is 3 feet long does not sag. I used a 90 degree angle coupling to connect the 2 vertical and horizontal pipes. So far I have used my Koi Cafe for 2 weeks with no issues.

this is a well constructed item, and works as advertised. the programing and timer is easy to use. I would design a different chute for the food to drop so that it could be aimed. the item is fairly heavy and to hang it is difficult due to the weight of the food, battery and controller. It is almost a two(2) person task to hang the unit above the pond. I haven't seen any squirrels yet, but it looks to be varmint proof.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Tenchant looks good for now!
I recently installed the Koi cafe over my pond in SC. It was easy to set up and worked first go around with standard Tretra pond sticks. I have it set to feed x2 per day for now and the fish seem to have got used to it. I used a rope and pulley system to hang the feeder over the pond so it is easy to pull in for filling. I'm not sure how water proof it is going to be as there are a number of fixings in the lid that might allow water to seep in. We'll have to see. For now I have been pleased with the installation and operation.
