An excellent substitute.
The crisps are a excellent substitute from everyday flakes, and my fish eat them up.

Crisps are great for all goldfish and koi
I have 3 ponds in my backyard and one has goldfish and shubunkins only. All my fish love these especially when the their water drops down below 50 degrees. Great product.

My former feeder goldfish prefer the crisps over the flakes!!
Now that the goldfish have become large, they come to the surface and gulp the crisps down as I drop them in!! Wow, interaction with my pet fish!!!

The Perfect Food For Difficult Fancy And Fantail Goldfish
Goldfish Crisps are the median choice in between sinking granules, and floating flakes. Floating flakes can cause surface gulping, and swim bladder issues in some fish. Especially odd shaped Fancy and Fantail Goldfish who might also have trouble scouring the gravel for sinking granule pellets. Not to mention that too many granule pellets can cause these fish to sink like a stone in some cases. Goldfish Crisps float on the surface but I've found they're more easily sucked in by the fish without excessive gulping, and no swim bladder floating upside down issues have been seen in my fancy goldfish as was the case with a flake only diet. The crisps are not only more concentrated but also stay together instead of breaking up like flakes. So there's far less mess for those fish who don't clean up the gravel scraps. If you've had trouble with other foods then Goldfish Crisps might be the answer you've been looking for.
