Helps protect your dog from Lyme disease and more
Contains Amitraz to help protect your dog from life-threatening diseases transmitted by ticks, including Lyme disease and Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever. Prevents attachment of ticks, and provides a full three months of protection. For dogs only, over 12 weeks old.
Active Ingredients: Amitraz 9.0%.
Amitraz spreads over your dog in the oil of its skin and haircoat where its activity starts within 24 hours to detach and kill existing ticks on your pet. Amitraz continues to prevent attachment and feeding and kills new ticks that may climb onto your pet for up to 90 days. The collar and its active ingredients are not affected by normal wetting such as rainfall, however it is suggested the collar be removed before bathing. This collar should be replaced when new ticks are seen to persist on your pet. For optimal efficacy for tick control and prevention you should replace the collar every 3 months.
Preventic Collars are available in two sizes:
18" collar: for dogs up to 60 lbs.
25" collar: for dogs over 60 lbs.

Directions: Place the collar around the dog's neck, adjust for proper fit and buckle in place. Cut off excess length and dispose. Do not allow dogs to play with cut-off pieces. The collar must be worn tightly to contact skin and so your dog cannot remove it.

Can I use the Preventic Collar with topical flea and tick products such as Bio Spot?
A.
Maybe. In some cases, you can use Frontline or bioSpot SPOT ON® along with the Preventic Collar. This is sometimes done especially in areas heavily infested with ticks. However, this may not be appropriate for all dogs, particularly those that are aged, pregnant, nursing or dogs with medical conditions. We recommend you always consult with your local veterinarian before combining flea and tick products. Please see our chart on Combining Flea and Tick Products.
Does it control fleas? Can I use a flea product with the Preventic Collar?
A.
The Preventic collar does not control fleas. Certain topical and oral flea medications such as Program, Frontline, or bioSpot SPOT ON® may be able to be used with the Preventic Collar (please see previous question). We do not recommend using a flea and tick collar with the Preventic Collar.
This collar is labeled for dogs only. If you need tick protection for your cat, we carry the Electronic Tick & Flea Repeller, which can be attached to your cat's collar.
The effectiveness of this collar is not weakened with normal wetting. It is not recommended to bathe your dog with the collar on. You would simply need to remove it before you start to bathe and replace when finished.
Is this collar safe for my dog to wear and my kids to pet the dog while wearing it?
A.
The Preventic Collar is safe for your dog to wear, with the following precautions:
If your dog loses the Collar at sometime, you need to find it and properly dispose of it to make sure it is not accidentally ingested.
If your dog ingests part of it, consult your veterinarian.
It is safe for your kids to be around your dog with this collar on. The only thing that you need to be careful of is that they aren't having prolonged exposure to the collar like using the dogs neck as a pillow or holding onto the tick collar instead of the dogs regular collar. Should they inadvertently have prolonged exposure, they need to be sure to wash their hands thoroughly with soap and water.
What if I find a tick on my dog while the collar is on?
A.
The collar will prevent the ticks from attaching to your dog. You may occasionally find a tick on your dog, but the insecticide should kill it within 24 hours of biting your dog. Remember that a tick must be attached for 24-48 hours in order to transmit disease-causing organisms.
The collar may cause a skin reaction in rare cases; keep in mind that this can happen if the collar is on too tight.

These collars are amazing! Nothing I put on our lab worked until I put one of these collars on him. Within two days, every tick was gone and he was tick-free for months!
This is the best tick collar I have ever used on my dog. I live in a heavy wooded area in New Hamphshire. I hardly ever have had to remove a tick from my dog using this collar. I use it with Bio Spot that prevents fleas, and I have
had no trouble with fleas and ticks.
I have three dogs and a white tail deer that all need tick prevention. I recommend the Preventic Collar to anyone and everyone who will listen to me. I live in Upper Bucks County, PA and tick season starts as early as March and doesn't end until November. I am confident that my pets will remain tick free. The collar doesn't just repel the ticks, it kills them. I am confident that when the summer comes, I don't have to spend each night checking the dogs for ticks. It really works. I have had my deer for three years and every year he (Rusty) gets a tick collar. My dogs and I remain tick free as long as I use a Preventic Collar. I buy extra to give out because I know how good they are for pets and people. I think it's the greatest.
This collar works like magic! I live in a wooded and farmland area and would take my 5 month old dachshund on daily walks through the fields and forests. Every day I had to attempt to pull off 3 or more ticks despite using Frontline. I finally got this collar and have stopped pulling ticks off. Now I find dead ticks in his bedding and around the house. Much better than pulling them off which is painful for both me and him! I would have paid a lot more than $12 for this collar! I can't say enough good things about it.
I have 4 Basset Hounds in west Texas. I tried just about every flea/tick preventative made and offered by our vet and nothing worked for more than 24 hours. I was literally pulling 20-50 ticks off my dogs a day!! My vet told me to try these collars and they were miracle workers! I didn't see a single tick after I put these collars on the dogs. Amazing!!
