| "Every dog should have a bed--for warmth, comfort, and the security of having a place of his or her own." Dogs tend to select couches, chairs, or beds as a place to rest or sleep. They prefer the comfort and warmth these items of furniture offer compared to a hard floor. Dog beds provide the same comfort benefits and they keep pets off furniture - an important consideration for many pet owners who prefer to keep their furniture free from pet hair. A bed introduced at an early age, reinforced with consistent training, will keep your pet off your furniture for his or her entire life. Where you place your dog's bed is entirely up to you and your dog. Just remember it is his or her resting place so it's best not to place it in a high traffic area of your home. Many pet owners place their pet's bed in their cage or crate once he or she is house trained, while others prefer a location near where they spend much of their time so their companion is always nearby. We offer a wide selection of styles and color choices that enable you to choose a bed and changeable cover that complements your decor.
How to Care for a Drs. Foster & Smith Pet Bed Many people wonder how they can keep their pet beds clean, yet make sure that they last as long as possible. Here's how to extend the life of a pet bed while making sure it's always clean and fresh-smelling. Beds:
Covers and Liners:
Cedar: There really is no given time on how long the cedar smell will last. If the bed is inside, the smell will last about 6 months. However, fluffing the bed and rubbing the cedar together will bring the smell back. If the bed is exposed to different elements, outside for example, the cedar smell will last 2 or 3 months. Cedar scent can be compared to potpourri. Drs. Foster & Smith Cedar Spray is available to refresh the cedar smell. |

I tried this bed for my dog that is a "snuggler" and assumed the larger, older dog (who has always spread out to sleep) wouldn't be interested. Well, the older dog took it over the very first day, and seems to sleep much more comfortably (and often!). The snuggler enjoys it too, but rarely gets in, so now I'm planning to buy two more to have in all rooms where they hang out with family members. |

We recently purchased a Slumber Ball, and both of our dogs love it! It is so funny to see them completely asleep, with the happiest and most peaceful expressions on their faces. We made the mistake of ordering only one though, and we are planning on getting another to make sure that both dogs can be in complete comfort. |

My dog used to have to sleep in our bed every night, and as much as we love him, we would only have a tiny bit of bed to sleep on since he likes to push up against you until you're off the bed. We decided it was unhealthy to let our dog take over our bed, so I bought him this Slumber Ball, and he LOVES IT! Our bed is now #2 on his favorite places to sleep. THANKS! |

I have a deaf mixed breed who is a serious sleeper. Carmela is quite the connoisseur of dog bed designs, with various generations of different dog beds scattered around the house. But now that the Slumber Ball has arrived it is Her Majesty's one and only sleeping choice! In fact, she will now sleep wherever it is, even if people aren't in that same room--a preference for bedding she's never shown in the past. As far as Carmela is concerned, it's the ultimate and all other dog beds have been kicked to the curb! And as her human servant, I'm very happy at how nicely it goes through the washer. :-) |

I purchased this bed for my Labrador Retriever (58lbs) and she loves it. She doesn't beg to get in bed anymore. It is plenty large enough (44") and I love the cedar fill as well as the washable cover. I searched long and hard for just the right bed and this was definitely it! Thank you! |

I have a Pug with a joint problem who is extremely particular about where and how he sleeps. It took him about a month before he would even get on this bed, but now it's his absolute favorite. I haven't noticed any discomfort in the way he walks when he gets up from it... a definite change from previous beds. I'm so impressed by his increase in motion upon waking that I'm now buying two more for other rooms in the house. |

We recently rescued a Yellow Labrador Retriever, Reese, from a local shelter. She is a sweet pup and simply loves our Black Labrador Retriever, Nestle. She also loved his 44" Suede Slumber Ball. Nestle and Reese race each other to the Slumber Ball every night before bed. We just had to get another Slumber Ball! We now have two 44" Suede Slumber Balls and our dogs love them! They just nest right up in the middle and fall fast asleep. Nestle, who weighs around 85 pounds still has room to spare on the Slumber Ball! Reese, who is only currently 40 pounds, still has growing room on her new Slumber Ball. Thanks so much for making such a wonderful product. My dogs and I thank you very much! |

I purchased this for my Pug. She sometimes limps on her back leg and I wanted her to have something snuggly to lay on and something that she could get onto by herself. Well, it took her a couple of weeks before she warmed up to it and now she absolutely loves it. Sometimes you just have to spend the extra bucks. If you could see how much my Pug loves this, it's so worth it. I would recommend this to anyone. |

We read the testimonials and thought we would give this bed a try. We bought 5 different beds and our dog did not want to sleep in any of them. She would jump into our bed during the night and make it uncomfotable for us. Ever since we bought this bed, she sleeps on it all night! She actually prefers her bed over ours! Thank you for making such a great product! |

After using several cheaper square type beds in the past and having problems with them bottoming out, we decided to try a Slumber Ball. Our dog has hip dysplaysia and needed something that was going to provide lots of cushion. When we took the bed out of the box, she loved it immediately and went right on it. It is roomy enough if she wants to stretch out, provides a support for her head, and is soft and cushy. In fact, when she is not in it, our cats are! They ALL love it! |

I have 2 dogs - younger dog likes fluffy beds, older dog likes flat beds - or so I thought. I bought one bed and they're fighting over who gets it and when neither was looking, the cat claimed it. I'll be buying one more plus the small one for the cat. Very nice fabric, well made, much better than anything found at local pet stores. Highly recommend. |

This is by far the best dog bed we have ever owned! We bought one for our Greyhound last year, and he took to it immediately. It has kept its fluffiness and the quality is top notch. Before our 2nd Greyhound arrived 2 weeks ago, we ordered a second slumber ball for him, knowing he would want one of his own. Our hounds adore these beds! We very highly recommend them. Thank you for a great product! |

We have the 32" slumber ball for our female 37 lb. Beagle/Australian Cattle Dog mix, which she just loves and never wants to get out of. Our 14 lb. Shih Tzu also loves this bed so much that he would stare down at her until she got off the bed so he can lay in it.I ordered the 18" slumber ball based on the sizing chart provided for the Shih Tzu breed and it is too small! He couldn't get comfortable without falling off the ball. The 18" is more for a toy dog like a Yorkie. I am returning the 18" slumber ball and ordering the 26" one. I wouldn't rely on the size chart - take measurements yourself before ordering! |

We've purchased two of these beds over the past few years and keep one in the living room and one in the bedroom for our Vizsla (and on occasion our Siberian Husky also likes to lounge in them as well). The removable covers make washing easy and the replacement fill is a nice option to have. However, with the wear and tear of the infamous "puppy dances" the fill cover has torn in a few places which no longer makes washing the removable cover easy. I wish there was a replacement option without having to buy a new bed! |

My Bull Terrier loves his Slumber Ball Bed! As other customers have stated, our dog also had a problem with sleeping on our bed. After purchasing the Slumber Ball, we no longer have this problem. Our dog is heavy and was sinking to the bottom, so I decided to fill the bed with more stuffing. Although the filler you can buy thru Drs. Foster is very luxurious, I simply used leftover Polyfill I had laying around the house. It has made the bed incredibly fluffy and comfortable for him. And after 2 months of use, the dark brown linen cover has held up very nicely without having to wash yet. |

I have two slumber balls. One for my Golden Retriever and one for my French Mastiff. They LOVE their beds, and are always snuggling in them! I HIGHLY recommend this bed, it is very easy to clean, and it is super comfortable for my girls. It's the best dog bed I've ever purchased! |

I love to watch my Boston Terrier lounge in this bed because she is the picture of relaxation and comfort. One of its many benefits is that its hills and valleys support her little short-nosed face to make breathing is easier. She used to sleep with me, but the Slumber Ball in the bedroom is where she wants to spend the night! |

I had been searching for new beds for my two mixed breed dogs ever since I moved in with my boyfriend and found that even his king sized bed was crowded! After looking at all the different styles on the Dr Foster & Smith's website, I just couldn't make up my mind. Reading the testamonials about the Slumber Ball was what convinced me to choose it, and I ordered one for each dog. What a big hit they are with my girls! EVERYTHING the others said about the beds is true. I've now told at least four other friends with dogs to get this bed! Not only will you make your dog really happy, but you'll get a better night sleep in your human bed as well. |

I have a Pit Bull, Bella, who is a snuggler and burrower. She LOVES her Slumber Ball, and took to it right away. The ball is very well made, and while I can speak to how well it will wash (as we just received it), the bed/fabric is very good quality. Buy with confidence! |
