Lightweight substrates are highly absorbent and made from all-natural materials. Attractive and long lasting, each wicks up moisture and odors and won't mildew in high humidity. Spot clean as needed and change monthly or sooner, depending on substrate depth. Non-toxic if ingested.
Cypress Bed for boas, tortoises, and crested geckos; Desert Snow (pristine hardwood pulp, easy clumping) for tortoises, ball pythons, and bearded dragons.
Instructions for Use: Pour in desired amount of bedding into the terrarium. Spread over terrarium floor to your desired thickness. Spot clean as needed and change monthly or more frequently, depending on the thickness of the substrate, the cage size, and the number of animals using it. This is important because the bedding is contaminated with urine even though you are removing the fecal matter when sifting/spot cleaning. Store unused substrate in a dry area.

Accidental Ingestion: Attempts should be made to reduce the accidental ingestion of any substrate. We recommend you feed your reptiles from a bowl or dish within the terrarium, instead of directly on the substrate. This will reduce accidental ingestion and will also help the reptile to readily find prey items. Another method is to have an area in the enclosure where no bedding is used, and feed reptiles only in this area of the enclosure.
Dehydration: Any dry, particulate substrate, because of the small particle size, can result in the loss of fluids (dehydration) in a reptile or amphibian living in the substrate. Small reptiles (less than 50 grams) are vulnerable due to their size. This includes desert species. Caution must be taken to maintain some moisture in the environment to avoid dehydration in smaller reptiles and amphibians.

T-Rex's Sani-Chips are the most amazing substrate I have ever used. I have a California Kingsnake and an Eastern Milksnake and have been looking for the right substrate for years. I've tried carpet, gravel, ground walnut shells, and so many others, but Sani-Chips reign supreme. These things are completely dust-free, smell good, and clump like crazy. They absorb everything so well that spot-cleaning is effortless -- I can pick up the solid, sturdy clumps without leaving anything behind. Fantastic. Also the light, small pieces are delicate enough for hours of digging around and burrowing. Everyone should have this for their snakes!
I got this for my cousin's leopard frog because of a small lack of proper bedding and they both love it! He says that his frog loves to burry and dig in it, and cleaning is a snap. He likes the fact that it is twice milled for extra softness. Thanks for giving us such great products at an affordable price!
When a turtle or tortoise owner brings their sick animal to the veterinarian, the cause of illness can almost always be traced back to one of two causes, improper housing or improper nutrition.
