I bought two of these. One for my Timneh and one for my Senegal. They both love these. My Timneh is always on his. My Senegal uses his when he gets cold. I would recommend this product to everyone and anyone. I ordered one for my Amazon but she didn't get hers yet. These are the greatest.
I bought several of these for my Cockatiels. In the winter, the Florida cold can get chilly. They started to use them within a day or two and I noticed they always were on them at night. They certainly seemed happier. Basically, I leave some regular perches in the cage but during the winter as they are in an outdoor cage - these are easy to install and boy do they prefer them. It's a great purchase!
We bought one of these when we adopted our 10 year old Orange-Winged Amazon, Charlie. His feet were in terrible condition due to the fact that his previous owner had no perches in his cage. The Thermo Perch has helped his feet tremendously. He loves to perch on it, and that has increased the blood flow in his feet. His muscles are now very toned and he can grip incredibly well.
I bought this for my two Budgies and they absolutely love it! They use it for sleeping and when they nap during the day. Now I can have the A/C on in the room without worrying about their being cold since they can just hop onto the perch to warm up. Definitely worth the money, every cage should have one.
I purchased this perch when you first advertised it and it changed the life of my little African Grey! She loves her perch! She sleeps on it, and on cold days spends hours on it. So, I purchased the second one for her travel cage and if she is cold she gets on her Thermo Perch. African Greys love warm, warm weather and now I know that my poor little girl has been cold for a long time! Please tell everyone that owns a grey - if the temp is 70 or less they need a Thermo Perch.
Not only does the Thermo Perch keep my bird warm in the cold winter months, it also saved his life! My Tiel had a night fright and broke off all his flight feathers underneath his wings, and he stayed on his Thermo Perch while waiting to go to the vet. The vet said because of doing that, it helped him not go into shock because he was able to keep warm. My birds will never go without the Thermo Perch!
I bought two of these. One for the Cockatiels and one for the Canary. The Canary (who is usually slow to warm up to new things) went for the "Thermo Perch" right away! I can always tell when he's finished eating and ready to go to bed for the night because he just settles in on his "Thermo Perch!"
I bought my Yellow-Napped Amazon Parrot a Thermo Perch about a month ago. She spends a ton of time on it. She has many perches to chose from in her cage and she always choses the Thermo Perch. She seems very happy with it and I feel good knowing her feet are always warm.
This is a wonderful product. I have two of them and my parrot goes to that perch first whenever I move her to another cage. Every bird owner should have one for every cage they have. Don't let your bird sleep or stay in a cage without one. I did not realize how cold her feet were in the mornings when I would take her out to her tree. Now her feet are toasty warm in the mornings and she is a very happy bird.
I purchased a Thermo Perch for my African Grey because I was moving from
Florida to Ontario. My poor little friend went from 95° to a house temperature
of 70°, and he appeared chilled. When I first gave him his new perch, he spent
the first day down on the bottom of his cage. By nighttime, he decided to perch
on it. The next day I plugged it in, let it warm and put him on it. He spent the
whole day on it, sleeping soundly. After a week with this perch, he is much more
content and accepting of his new home and environment.
I purchased a Thermo Perch for my African Grey. As usual, any new item takes him a while to accept but once he sat on the perch he was convinced. He spends 75% of his time on this perch. He always chooses this perch as his sleeping perch.
We have a very picky African Grey female. She is very scared of anything new. We either have air conditioning or the heat on and our home is only around 70 degrees. I didn't know if she would like this heated perch at all. It took her four days to start sitting on it and now she spends at least 70% of her time on it. She seems to love to preen on it, but she'll still sleep on her cotton rope perch. I'm so happy that she likes it and I feel bad that she has may have been cold for 10 years!! This thing is awesome!!
I bought a heated perch for my aging Cockatiel. (he's almost thirty years old.) I got it as a Christmas gift for him, since he spent most of the time above the lights over the table. He took to it right away. It saved his life when I was gone for a few days last winter and my heat went out in the house. It was literally warmer outside than inside! In Minnesota. Now all he needs are glasses to stop him from flying into things.
My two parakeets were pretty puffy in the mournings when I moved from California to Buffalo. They seem to like the perch very well. They usually sleep on it, and hop on during the day. They are alot more active in the morning, no sitting around puffing till they warm up. One of them gets right out on the very end where it is the warmest. When I pick them up from it, their feet are nice and toasty. The plastic is a little slippery but other than that this seems to be a good product.
Providing the variety of perches your bird needs is easy and inexpensive. A wide range of perches is available commercially, and you can also fashion a number of suitable perches from natural materials.
Perches, available in many diameters, lengths, and shapes for your particular bird species have many advantages. Offer a variety of perches to provide plenty of exercise and relieve boredom.
Several furnishings are needed for the cage. These include perches, dishes, grooming supplies, nest box, cage cover, and toys. Ensure that when accessories are in the cage that the bird still has plenty of room to fly and move around.
