The unit can also be operated manually to stop other unwanted behaviors, such as digging in the trash or chewing. Overview
This unobtrusive tabletop device can be placed within 25 feet of where you want to stop dogs from barking. The internal microphone senses barking, and emits a two-second ultrasonic sound that can only be heard by the dog. The noise startles him, and he learns to associate his behavior with the unpleasant sound. The unit can also be used manually to stop unwanted behaviors, like getting into the trash, digging, or chewing.

Features
The PetSafe Ultrasonic Bark Control System is useful for training indoors or out. Your dog learns to associate the annoying sound with his misbehavior. The Ultrasonic Bark Deterrent System is powered by a 9-volt battery and is not weatherproof. When operating outside, place in a protected area such as under eaves, awnings, or other overhang, shielding it from rain or moisture.

The unit is activated when the internal microphone picks up the constant barking sound from the dog.

The activated unit emits a two-second ultrasonic sound that can only be heard by the dog.

Startled by the high-pitched sound, the dog should stop barking, as he will associate his bark with this unpleasant noise.

Use of the PetSafe Ultrasonic Bark Control System
Use this unit to help eliminate nuisance barking and other unwanted behaviors.

Install the Battery. After removing the battery door, install a 9-volt alkaline battery and replace the door. NOTE: When the battery voltage is low, the red indicator light will flash once every six seconds signifying that the battery should be replaced.

Place the unit in the area where the dog is barking.

The unit is equipped with a "Manual Correction" button that can be used to correct unwanted behaviors such as lying on the furniture or getting into the trash can. Simply push the "Manual Correction" button and the unit will emit a two-second ultrasonic sound. If the button is held down, the unit will repeat the process in two second intervals (two seconds on, two seconds off, two seconds on, etc...).
