Love this item. Nice size feeding dishes for pet. Has place to put some ice.
I have several of these auto feeders. I love them. Have used several times throughout the last 10 years. Has 2 separated nice size dishes to place wet or dry food.
Each side with it's own easy timer. Timer has numbers 0 to 48 on the dial. Reads like 0 - 4 - 8 - 12 - 16 and so on. So you can pick a time set pretty close to the time you need. Example: If you want it to open about 6 hours later, then put on the line between 4 and 8. You only need to figure out what time you want each side to open and put dial on the hours later that you want it to open. Example: Say it is Saturday noon and you want to feed your pet at Saturday 6 PM and Sunday 8 AM. Well then you set one timer for 6 and the other timer for 20. Which is the numbers of hours later from when you are setting and want to feed. EASY! The ice department is very small. Can not fit ice packs in it. Unless you have super small ones. I can not find any that small so we use ice cubes in a ziplock snack baggie! The part where you can put ice has a hole on each dish side (under the removeable dish side). So you must use a ziplock baggie for ice or else when the ice melts the water will leak on your floor. Only uses 1 AA battery for the whole dish set. Battery a little hard to get out. I use a knife on one end of battery to remove. The dishes clean up easy and I sometimes put in the dish washer top rack to wash.
I do love this item. Hope I have helped answer any questions you may have about it.

This feeder does the job
Our cat is not one to eat what she wants out of a full bowl; it's more her style to wolf down her food, then be sick. So, we have to feed her in small portions as the day goes on. We were having a problem with her waking us up at 4 AM, wanting breakfast. We solved this problem by feeding her a small amount when we went to bed, putting a very small portion in each of the timer dishes, then setting them to open in 4 and 6 hours.
We are not awake to confirm that the bowls open at the exact time they are set for, but our cat now lets us sleep, and when we get up, both dishes are open and she has been eating her food.
One must be careful to be sure that the battery is properly installed, or it may come loose when the dish is placed on the floor. If that happens, the bowls will not open. But confirming that the batteries are in position is not difficult. Just get into the habit.

Disappointing
I bought this only for those times when I am not home to feed dinner to my dog. The timer is a dial that goes in 2 hr increments and is far from accurate. Sometimes it goes up an hour early, sometimes an hour late. For the price, I would expect something more precise. Still, it does feed the dog when I can't be home, which is why I recommend it.
