Ultimate Scratching Post

Your cat won't tip this scratching post. He'll scratch, relieve boredom, or warm up for a vigorous play session. It'll remain a favorite for years. Towering 32" high, it's our tallest scratching post and allows your cat a full stretch. Includes attractive 16" wood base, sisal-wrapped wood frame, and 6" square wood landing at top. Minimal assembly required. Padded Post Perch simply slides onto top of post and locks in place. Pad is machine washable. (Sold separately).

This post is perfect for conditioning nails, and it will not snag nails. Also helps discourage your pet from scratching on inappropriate surfaces such as your furniture or carpeted surfaces.

• Place the post in a room where your cat spends a lot of time. Cats often like to stretch and scratch when they wake up from a nap.

• To introduce the post to your cat, try using catnip as a lure. (For most cats, a lure is unnecessary, but fun.) Rub catnip onto the sisal material and call your cat over to the post.

• Scratch your nails along the surface of the material. This will attract your cat and, at the same time, teach him where to scratch.

• After your cat begins to scratch, praise him and give him a food treat. (Small kittens can be trained to climb the post by showing them food treats and placing a treat at the top of the post.)

• If your cat has already been scratching a piece of furniture, place the post directly in front of it. Temporarily cover the previously scratched areas with Scratch Buster Strips. This will help redirect your cat's scratching activities to the post.

I always thought that if you kept your cats indoors, you had no choice but to have them declawed. This is not true! I now have three indoor cats with all their claws. At first it was a problem until I purchased this Scratching Post from Drs. Foster & Smith. I was hesitant at first due to the price, but it is extremely well constructed and my cats love it. It looks 100% better than the cheap posts and it isn't wobbly at all (cats don't like posts that move when they scratch them). I put it in a corner close to their food/water dishes and sprinkled some catnip on it and they run to it every day. The best part is that it is tall enough that even the largest of the group can get a full stretch. I have not had any more issues with furniture scratching since I purchased this post. If you have a large home and/or several cats, get two!

Myschyf loves this Scratching Post. She was always using the carpet in the rec room as a scratching pad, despite the fact that she had a favorite cardboard scratch pad in another room. As soon as I set this up, she has ignored the carpet and gone straight for post. It was money well spent.

Best money I ever spent! I tried EVERYTHING to stop my cat from scratching my couch. Repellents, sticky tape, positive reinforcement, negative reinforcement... nothing worked. I have a house full of other scratching posts that she refuses to use. Then I got the this post and placed it in front of the corner of the couch where she likes to scratch... she hasn't touched the couch since!

I was looking for the perfect post for my cat because she's very picky. She loves this. When she's not scratching, you can find her sitting on the very top. I was hesitant to buy such an expensive Scratching Post, but since I recently bought new furniture I was determined to not have it ruined. My two cats pretty much mangled my old set of furniture (over the course of 6 years). They love this post!! It's heavy, attractive, doesn't tip over, and is tall enough for my bigger cat to get a full stretch. I initially placed it right next to the sofa (her usual spot) and she never goes for the sofa anymore. Note: I also put sticky paws around my furniture this time! From someone who has had furniture ruined, I highly recommend this product. My cats are 7 and 8 and set in their ways, and still took to this scratcher nicely. Several guests have noted that they didn't even notice it was there because it blended in so well and doesn't look like your typical cheapo scratching post.

I have many cats and they will take turns going over to the Ultimate Scratching Post. Even the smaller ones need every bit of its height to get a good stretch. I can't believe that shorter scratching posts are still made, because they sure aren't satisfying to use like this one! Every post should be 32" high!

This product is a miracle worker. My husband and I had old couches made of a cloth material that both of our cats loved to scratch. We wanted to get new leather couches but were terrified that the cats would ruin them. We bought this Scratching Post before we got rid of the old couches so they had some time to get used to using it. It took them no time at all to get used to using it, and now we can rest assured. I think the main reason why cats love this post so much is because they can stretch their whole body while scratching. My cats love it, yours will too!! We used this scratching post in conjunction with the Feliway Comfort Zone Plug-In so that they'd be less stressed about the change in the couches. We continue to use both.

All our NINE kitties love these Scratching Posts. We bought two of them and also purchased the seats later. Three of our cats were always sitting on top of the claw posts before we had the seat. When I saw the seats to add on, I knew we had to have them. Our cats love the addition and a new place to perch. Only two improvements needed on the seats. More cushion padding and also the seats slide off. Had to put duck tape on them to keep them from sliding off when the cats jump up on them.Otherwise, a great item.

Fantastic Scratching Post indeed. I have four adult cats and they love it and they don't bother any of my furniture when this thing is around. Now mind you, after a good long period of time, my four guys eventually rip it to shreds. It's normal. But I always purchase this post as a replacement. No other post matches up to this one. Not one. I just hope you guys always make this model available.

I thought this was a crazy amount to spend on a Scratching Post but SO GLAD I DID. They love it. I have two 4 month old kittens. Used sticky paws on the chair they were using and bought the post. They have forgotten completely about scratching the furniture. They love to stretch on it as well. GREAT PRODUCT!

Very impressive piece of cat furniture. My girl loves it. I enjoy seeing her get a full stretch, pull herself up with it, climb some, and even hang onto it with all fours. I didn't buy the perch yet but I definitely will. Well worth it!

Best scratching post ever! My two cats use it exclusively, and leave my furniture alone! They truly are attracted to the sisal, and if you spray it with catnip spray or rub catnip on the sisal when you first set it up, they will learn to use it from day 1. After four years of constant use, I am buying a new one. Best money I ever spent, and it sure beats buying new people furniture to replace what the cats destroyed! I give this product 5 stars!
