How is it given?

What results can I expect?
Treatment generally requires 2-6 weeks. If no improvement is seen in 2 weeks, contact your veterinarian. Treatment should not be discontinued until laboratory tests show the fungus has been killed. In severe cases of ringworm, oral medications may also be used.

Ringworm can be difficult to treat and reinfection is possible. Talk to your veterinarian about other measures you should take to help treat the ringworm and remove the fungus from the environment.

Ringworm can be spread to humans. Talk to your veterinarian and/or physician regarding steps you should take to ensure you or your family members do not become infected.

Notify your veterinarian of any other medications or supplements your pet is taking, and also if your pet has had any reactions to previous medications.

What should I do if I miss a dose?
If you miss a dose, give it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the one you missed and go back to the regular schedule. Do not give two doses at once.

What is the most important information I should know?
Ringworm can be transmitted to people. Talk to your veterinarian and/or physician regarding steps you should take to ensure you or your family members do not become infected.

Treatment should not be discontinued until laboratory tests confirm that the fungus has been killed.

Who should not take it?
Not for use in animals hypersensitive (allergic) to miconazole. This medication should only be given to the pet for which it was prescribed.
