What is KetoChlor Shampoo?
KetoChlor Shampoo is a medicated antiseptic, antiseborrheal shampoo that contains ingredients used to manage skin conditions that respond to ketoconazole and chlorhexidine.

This antiseptic shampoo is used in the management of conditions that respond to ketoconazole (an antifungal) or chlorhexidine (an antiseptic). Ingredients are combined in an easy-lathering and easy-rinsing shampoo.

How does KetoChlor Shampoo work?
KetoChlor Shampoo is a combination of Chlorhexidine Gluconate (2%), an antiseptic, and ketoconazole (1%), an antifungal. Combined with a patented Spherulite technology, the ingredients reduce the numbers of bacteria and fungi (namely yeast) on the skin.

Is there a generic equivalent available?
No.

How is it given?
KetoChlor is applied topically when bathing your pet. It is important that the lather be allowed to remain on the pet for at least 5-10 minutes each time the shampoo is applied. Rinse the animal very well with clean water after shampooing. For external use only. Avoid contact with the eyes or mucus membranes. Wash hands after use.

Always follow the dosage instructions provided by your veterinarian. If you have difficulties using this shampoo, contact your veterinarian. Frequency of use depends upon the condition and response to treatment. Shake well before use and follow the manufacturer's directions.

What results can I expect?
KetoChlor must generally be used several times a week for several weeks before results may be seen. Therapy may also include oral antibiotics or antifungal medications.
