Solid - Practical
We just got a new deck and we wanted a feeder pole that would be high enough to discourage raccoon visitors. Seems to be ok so far.

DISAPPOINTING
Just received this pole and this is the first time I've been disappointed by an item I bought from Dr's. Foster and Smith. The pole does have two mounting choices, which I do like, but the pole itself is disappointing. There is no section of the pole that has a crimped or pointed end to be driven into the ground. It's just flat ended and hollow. There's also nothing to help stabilize it if you do manage to get it into the ground (i.e. like a Shepard's hook has). I haven't decided yet if I will actually try it or just send it back. I have a pole I use for feeders and it's design makes it very stable, but it can't be adapted for a bluebird house, which is what I was looking for. Pictures of ALL the pieces of the pole kit (like that on the side of the box) on this webiste would have helped me make a more informed decision whether or not to purchase.
