An Improvement
Squirrels get into all my bird feeders. They ate away the ones made from recycled plastics. So I thought I would try a suet feeder with a metal roof. The squirrels have not eaten through the metal roof on this one. But the pin that holds the roof in place is not the strongest in the world. The squirrels can still work it up a bit with effort and get to some of the suet. It's the weak link on this feeder. So this is an improvement in a suet feeder that is squirrel-proof. But it is not there yet. If you are not troubled by squirrels or yours are less aggressive than mine, this would be fine.

Better, But Still Not Squirrel Proof
I have tried suet feeders made from all available materials. The squirrels eat right through wood and plastic. I bought a single and a double-sided with a metal roof. This one is pretty good. The clip that holds down the metal roof is pretty secure. But squirrels are still able to work the roof up enough to get into the suet. This is an improvement over some of the others. But if you are troubled by squirrels, you will still be searching with me for the Holy Grail.

Great suet feeder
Sturdy and attractive and I know the hanger will never fray or break like others I've owned. Easy to fill. One small drawback: some critter still managed to tamper with it enough to back off the bottom wingnut holding it all together.. A lock washer helps.
