Designed to fit into square suet feeders, these seed cakes are made of the finest seeds and nuts to attract a variety of wild birds. Great for year-round feeding in any kind of weather. Please specify flavor. Woodpecker Seed Cake (9 oz. Standard Cake), with peanuts, almonds, cracked corn, sunflower hearts, black oil sunflower seed, and peanut butter. Mixed Seed Cake (9 oz. Standard Cake), with safflower seed, black oil sunflower seed, white millet, striped sunflower, sunflower hearts, and peanuts. Nutsie Cake (9 oz.), with a variety of tree nuts, including pecans, cashews, almonds and Brazil nuts. All measure approx. 4-1/2" x 4-1/2" x 1-1/4".

Pine Tree Farms Seed Cakes Nutsie 4.8 5 6 6

Birds LOVE this ! We have many types of bird feeders on our property, thus we try many types of seeds & cakes- but always buy made in USA products. I dropped a cake while installing it- but got a better look inside, the cake is FILLED with whole seed & nuts through out- not just millet ! I currently have 2 types of cakes in use, the birds clearly prefer the PINE Tree Farm over our typical cake. We will be buying these again ! Wish I could get them locally instead of mail order. May 13, 2013

Nuts about Nutsy All my birds love this, but the squirrels go absolutely berserk over it. I have to try to fasten it down in a caged feeder, because the squirrels will steal it otherwise. It's a rare day when it lasts for more than two days. My woodpeckers enjoy it if they get a chance at it. June 27, 2012

Excellent product My little woodpeckers absolutely love these seed cakes. They are not greasy; I feed them year round. We had to get an unside down feeder (also from Drs. Foster and Smith) because the squirrels like them too. So far the squirrels haven't figured out how to get to the good stuff -- they get on the roof, but have nowhere to hang on to reach the seed cake. We used to have only one small woodpecker, but now there are often two or three. April 19, 2012

What is the best seed for a Cardinal no no feeder?

I had put a mix of sunflower seeds, safflower, and sunflower chips, but it seems that the birds can't get at some of them through the mesh.

I used black-oiled sunflower seeds only, and the cardinals and other birds had no trouble eating it.

Thank you for your question. The black oil sunflower, striped sunflower, safflower, or peanuts normally work very well with the Cardinal No/No Feeder. However, since these are natural products, the sizes may vary on the seed or nut sizes and occasionally the products may get stuck in the mesh.

How do I discourage starlings, grackles, etc. from eating all my food blocks?

I have clamped my hands which drives them away for awhile but I cannot stay outside all the time. I also have taken away my feeders for the afternoon and the woodpeckers, chickadees, etc. will come in the evening but I am afraid if I take them all away, they will go somewhere else. The cardinals usually chase them away but the smaller birds don't come around. They make a mess on my patio, around my pond, etc. Are there any cages or something I can put around my block feeders? Thanks JC
