Copper Roof Double Suet Feeder 6-1/8" x 6" x 6-1/2" long
Very nice - glad I found this feeder
The clinging birds and I agree that this suet feeder is a great addition to the property. For over 20 years, we have had tremendous squirrel problems with various wild bird seed feeders, even with spring loaded perches and squirrel & raccoon baffles. Now admitting defeat to Mother Nature in this battle, I recently discontinued providing seed. In our three double-cake suet feeders (two with perches for larger birds and one without) I use No Melt suet with Hot Pepper year-round. The no melt feature holds up well in our hot climate and the squirrels have no interest in the hot pepper.

Sturdy and well made.
This seems as if the attached roof attracts more birds than our plain wire suet holders. It's also nice that it holds two suet cakes. It looks nice outside and the birds love it. 5 Stars.

Squirrels get into all my bird feeders. They ate away the ones made from recycled plastics. So I thought I would try a suet feeder with a metal roof. The squirrels have not eaten through the metal roof on this one. But the pin that holds the roof in place is not the strongest in the world. The squirrels can still work it up a bit with effort and get to some of the suet. It's the weak link on this feeder. So this is an improvement in a suet feeder that is squirrel-proof. But it is not there yet. If you are not troubled by squirrels or yours are less aggressive than mine, this would be fine.

Better, But Still Not Squirrel Proof
I have tried suet feeders made from all available materials. The squirrels eat right through wood and plastic. I bought a single and a double-sided with a metal roof. This one is pretty good. The clip that holds down the metal roof is pretty secure. But squirrels are still able to work the roof up enough to get into the suet. This is an improvement over some of the others. But if you are troubled by squirrels, you will still be searching with me for the Holy Grail.
