Nesting Huts Birdhouses Wood Roof
I ordered/received this roosting hut before the cold weather set in (Oct/Nov). Although it was a bit smaller than I expected, I hung it on the window at the back of my house anyway. Within a couple of hours, a Carolina wren was checking it out, and she moved in the first night! It's been unusually cold this winter in Maryland (single-digit temps several times so far), so I put a little bit of timothy hay inside to help insulate her from the cold, and added postal tape to the top to ensure no roof leakage. She comes "home" between 5:30 and 6:00 every evening and sleeps soundly in this little roosting hut, even though she doesn't fit completely inside (the end of her tail sticks out the opening). She doesn't seem to mind at all, and I feel good knowing that she has a dependable shelter every night to keep her warm and dry. The pic shows her tail sticking out of the opening (on the left side) one evening.

These little huts are well made. Easy to place. I have had no problem with them not staying where I hung them. So far no occupants but I am still hopeful. I have a great variety of "regulars" feeding.

I live in Tucson and will see how this works out for the birds.

Nice and well-made little bird house
Good quality little cute bird house. I hang two of these bird houses at my backyard. I haven't seen any birds move in yet. The size is a bit smaller than I expected, but it is an adorable cute little birdhouse, build with high quality material
