This is great stuff! Although I also purchased the wood with the holes in it to "frost" with this product, I have been putting it on a pine tree's bark, which I as well as most the birds seem to like better. There are several bird species that "take care of it". And we have Fox Squirrels that hang upside down eating it. Great product because it allows you to see various bird and other species! I don't particularly like the oily spots left on the tree, but I can live with them by putting more in their place. Make sure you have plenty of suet eaters and there are zero problems.

I bought this suet product after a friend used it. It is much easier to use than the suet blocks or balls. It can be applied to the bark of a tree, to the edge of a feeder or just about anyplace birds can find it. The applicator wooden spoon that comes with it is not very useful and quickly breaks, but a regular knife works well. Keep the container in a warm place (inside not on an enclosed porch for instance) to make it easier to work with. A great way to feed peanut butter and suet.

I find that the Black-Capped Chickadee's and Nuthatch wild birds go crazy over this Tree Icing. I modified the Pine Tree Farms Tree Icing Feeder by drilling two 1 1/2" holes through the feeder with the 1 1/2" hole saw and also adding two 3/8" dowels through the feeder for perches.

I put this icing on the bark or limbs of my tree, and the woodpeckers loved it besides all the other birds. I've tried another icing before, but the birds seem to be attracted to this tree icing instead.
