Heavy Duty construction should protect against squirrels, IF we can keep them from hanging on it and spinning it off from the hook it hangs on.

I live in a second floor apartment. Pets are not permitted, so I have a 15 gal. aquarium, and a bird feeder on the landing. The suet feeder was constantly being robbed by Steller Jays, Starlings, and innovative squirrels. When the feeder arrived, my Son was visiting from Alaska. He rigged a pulley system where I could refill the suet. At 87 he forbade me from using a step stool on the landing! Often the feeder is filled with wrens and chickadees. This has been the perfect solution to the challenges of the 'robbers' and my ability to keep the suet available.

Rated 5 out of 5 by KVBirder Welcomes the little birds and keeps out the others
This double suet feeder sits very close to my window where I can easily watch small birds enter and leave. The hairy woodpecker was not certain how to enter, all the others quickly found the suet. The feeder was easy to load and appears it will be easy to clean. Has a big ring at the top and is easy to hang on a shepherd's crook

Great feeder - very durable. Opening it could be easier but since it holds two cakes of suet you do not need to open it very often. Love it!
