Rated 5 out of 5 by Bettylouise great bird feeder
This squirrel resistant bird feeder is the best we have ever had. This is the 2nd one we have ordered - the 1st one just wore out over time and use. We take it in at night to prevent the raccoons from emptying it - we have tried many others and this is the best for our needs - we have it on a shepard's hook.

Our previous bird feeder had a tray on the bottom. The squirrels discovered they could jump from a nearby tree stump onto this tray. They also chewed off most of the bird perches! We've ordered Advantage II flea medication for all our cats for the past several years. That's the main reason we decided to try this bird feeder from Drs. Foster & Smith.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Dave56 Excellent All Around Feeder!
I purchased one of these feeders after inspecting the spring mechanism and how the sleeve works. I hung it up and placed an 18" squirrel canopy over it and it has worked perfectly. I purchased another one for my deck and mounted it on an extension pole and used the same type of baffle and so I can watch the birds feed from my bedroom. Squirrels have tried to invade that feeder, but fail every time (so far). I'm buying a few more for my uncle, who just turned 100, to keep him off a ladder to repair his feeders from squirrel damage. GREAT Product!

Rated 4 out of 5 by vdcook This product is good
This product is good. It would be nice to have the metal around the openings where the birds feed. The reason is that I see where the squirrels have chipped some of the plastic. Squirrels are smart and they will figure a way to get into the feeder. Most of the time the weight of the squirrel will cause the ports to close, but I have seen them still get some of the seeds out. Right now it is working 95% of the time, but I will see how log the plastic openings hold up.
