Small Exercise Pen for Small Pets

Pen features eight powder-coated, multicolor panels with 5/16" bar spacing. Each panel measures 13" wide by 9" high and assembles together to form a 36" diameter pen. Multi-purpose Cover/Mat is made of heavy-duty water repellant, coated fabric for durability and easy cleaning. When you use your exercise pen indoors, you can place a Cover/Mat underneath the pen to protect your floors. If you'd like your small pet to get some fresh air, you can place the Cover/Mat over the top of the Exercise Pen while your pet is outdoors to offer shade and protection from the sun.

Exercise pens are great additions to any home with pets. Even the most inactive pets in the largest cages need to get out and stretch their limbs. Plus, your pets have to go somewhere when you're cleaning their homes and litter boxes. These pens allow your pet to roam indoors or outdoors while being safely contained within your view. Ultimately, the use of a playpen is a healthy choice for both you and your pet. You no longer have to worry about your pet escaping the house or chewing on electrical cords. Your pet gets a change of scenery and beneficial exercise opportunities. When not in use, the pen simply folds away to be tucked in a convenient storage location.

Assembling your Exercise Pen for Small Animals
Clear the necessary area either on the floor or outdoors on level ground. Unfold each panel of the Exercise Pen from each other. Stand the unfolded pen panels on end and fashion the entire assembly into an octagon shape. Hook the two end panels (which should now be directly next to each other) together. Carefully lift your small pet(s) over and into the pen.

For easiest cleaning, assemble the pen in an area of the house with easy-to-clean flooring, such as linoleum, wood, tile, or laminate. It would also be best to provide your pet with a covered area, such as a crate or cardboard box, so he has a place to retreat for privacy when needed.

Since many small pets can jump extremely high and/or scale wire bars, always supervise your pet. Even if you think your small pet is incapable of escaping, it is a good idea to place the pen in a room in the house that has been pet-proofed. Pet-proofing a home includes taking measures to ensure your small pet cannot chew or ingest electrical cords, toxic plants, carpets, furniture, or that he cannot squeeze into gaps behind furniture or appliances.

Cleaning your Exercise Pen for Small Animals
If necessary, the wire pen bars can be cleaned with either warm water and a mild detergent, or sprayed clean with the medium pressure of a garden hose. Thoroughly rinse and air dry before storing and/or returning your pet(s) to the environment.
