Wysong Ferret Epigen 90 5 lb
Best food on the market
This food really is the best. My ferrets' coats have been great since they've been eating it (for several months now), even the one with adrenal. And they love it. Also a manageable size for chewing, though somewhat denser than other kibbles. Stools are looser due to lack of fillers.

Great Original Product, Iffy on the New Formula
I've rescued ferrets for a few years. My first two were in horrid condition. Underweight, Insulinoma, Adrenal issues, etc.
I put them on Wysong Epigen 90 mixed with Evo Ferret, Orijen Cat/Kitten, and Wellness Core Kitten, however I kept the base Wysong and only mixed in small amounts of the others. I also incorporated raw meat cat foods like Stella & Chewys.
Ferrets cannot use grains. Starch is just asking for issues. This food throws those out the window and increases protein that the ferrets CAN use (32% protein in some foods comes from the grains that the ferrets CANNOT use therefore the protein is wasted).
My very ill ferrets with a very short life expentancy suddenly gained weight, grew hair back, and became energized. My 'month' life expectancy was blown away and they lived a year longer with their medical issues. My next rescue was put on this, and perked right up, my private bred ferret loves this stuff. No loose stools or anything caused by this food.
They 'recently' changed their formula adding chia seeds to their formula. It's still a great food but my ferrets couldn't handle the chia. I asked Wysong to send me samples of it and they included a free bag of Wysong Epigen 90 Digestive Support. My guys do even better on the Wysong Epigen 90 Digestive support than before as it is more like this original Wysong Epigen 90.
Overall I recommend this over any other ferret food and I urge you to give it a shot. If you notice loose stools, try adding a bit of organic pumpkin or freeze dried pumpkin once a week to their diet. This helps out a lot with other issues as well as transitioning foods. Just don't use pumpkin pie filling!

made ferrets smell bad
I transitioned my 3 ferrets over a few weeks of mixing this food with Dr foster and smith food we normally eat, then switched to this food entirely. I have tried almost all high grade brands and I've never seen my girls have such loose stools and smell so bad. They all have gas, look skinnier and their coats are spotty. I won't buy this food again. Going back to Dr foster and smith brand food, there's nothing better on the market...
