Using your Kaytee Aspen Bedding
Layer approximately 1 to 2 inches of bedding in your pet's cage. For optimal health, provide a grate to separate your pet from his soiled litter. To maintain a healthy environment for both you and your pet, the entire cage and accessories should be thoroughly cleaned and the bedding changed once per week. Heavily soiled bedding should be removed daily, with replacement bedding added as needed.

This is one of my favorite beddings for my guinea pig. It smells extemely good and looks great and clean in the cage too. It doesn't cause allergic reactions which makes it really safe for your pets.
We recently switched from using the CareFresh bedding (made from reclaimed wood pulp) to the Aspen bedding for our guinea pig because the Aspen is more economical. After several weeks using the Aspen bedding, I am much happier and glad we made the switch. The Aspen bedding does not contain harmful aromatic oils, but still smells nice. While using the CareFresh bedding the smell of urine was an unpleasant experience every day as I spot cleaned the cage. With the Aspen, I enjoy a faint "wood" smell as I spot clean daily...and it lasts all week long! I also find the Aspen bedding to be more attractive than the CareFresh. The light color of the Aspen makes fecal matter more apparent, however that is also a big help come clean-up time. In my experience the Aspen bedding seems to be more absorbent than the CareFresh as well. All things considered, I much prefer the Aspen bedding!
In my quest to find the perfect bedding for my guinea pig, I have gone through numerous brands and have been mildly disappointed to outright frustrated with all. Not anymore! This product (manufactured by the trusted brand Kaytee) is amazing. Pleasant smell, durability and ease of use (most importantly: ease on the animal). This is not cheap bedding which harbors odors, congeals together into a disgusting mess, or harms the pet. This litter is wonderful and cannot be beaten in quality. For 12.99 the price is amazing as well. I was not expecting as large a quantity as I received.
Whether your small pet prefers burrowing deep into bedding, holing up inside a hutch, or taking cover in a large toy, he hides for security and solace.
