H.O.T. Magnum Canister Filter

Keep aquatic turtle habitats clean with this powerful canister filter. The Hang-On-Tank (H.O.T.) Magnum is actually two filters in one. It is perfect for everyday filtration or as a convenient maintenance filter for clean polished water. The easy setup design makes it simple to switch from a dedicated filter that provides efficient mechanical and chemical filtration to a water-polishing micron filter. Self-starting pump silently directs a certified 250 gallons per hour flow rate for exceptional filtration and water movement. Included Black Diamond Premium Activated Carbon helps improve water clarity and odors commonly associated with aquatic turtle habitats. Snap-lock, leak-proof connectors eliminate the need for additional hoses or tubing. UL-Listed. 8 ft cord.

Note: Water polishing Micron Cartridge is not intended for continuous use. Recommended as a maintenance filter during water changes or when added "water-polishing" is required.

Canister Prep

1. Canister
   1. Lift Cover Lock to open Canister.
   2. Swing Spring Latch downward and remove Cover.
   3. Remove Internal Flow Diffuser and Center Exhaust Tube.
   4. Remove Carbon Media Container.
2. Carbon Media Container
   1. Remove Cover and fill with Black Diamond Carbon.
   2. Replace Cover and rinse thoroughly.
   3. Slide Rite-Size Filter Sleeve over Carbon Media Container.
   4. Replace Carbon Media Container over Impeller Module and Bottom Plate.
   5. Replace Exhaust Gasket around Center Exhaust Tube.
   6. Replace Internal Flow Diffuser.
3. Fill and Seal
   1. Add water until Internal Flow Diffuser is covered.
   2. Install Exhaust Gasket onto Cover.
   3. Wet D-Ring with aquarium water.
   4. Replace Canister Cover. Raise Cover Lock to engage Spring Latch. Snap Spring Latch into groove. Push Cover Lock down to close and seal canister.
      1. Canister Prep for periodic Water Polishing or Gravel Washing: Switch out Carbon Media Container with Micron Cartridge and Rigid Core.
4. Placement (Note: Do not plug in yet)
   1. Install Leveling Clip in slots at the bottom of Canister.
   2. Hang Canister in desired position on the OUTSIDE of aquarium. Adjust Hanger to fit aquarium frame.
   3. Adjust Leveling Clip.
5. Intake/Outlet Assembly
   1. Install Intake and Outlet Tubes. Wet O-Ring on tube ends with aquarium water. Snap into place by pushing into proper part port until Connector Clip engages and locks. Intake is marked "IN" and "OUT."
   2. Note: Keep water level above tube "elbow" at all times.
   3. Note: To remove Tubes, push (don't squeeze) Connector Clip downward. Do Not remove clip. Slide Intake or Outlet Tubes of opening and the release Clip.
6. Start Up
   1. Plug in power cord. Be sure to create a "Drip Loop." Press On/Off Switch to start filter.
   2. CAUTION: To avoid water spills and leaks, make sure all connections are secured where indicated.
   3. Note: A slight rattling noise is normal ONLY DURING STARTUP. If noise persists, shut off filter and check for dirt or debris that may be in bottom of Canister.
