Safe terrarium substrate for frogs, salamanders, reptiles, amphibians
|
Provide 100% natural terrarium substrate for frogs, salamanders, and other humidity-loving reptiles and amphibians. Exo Terra Coco Husk is made from compressed coconut husk from the plantations of tropical Asia, making it ideal for increasing humidity in the home terrarium. Not only is this ecologically-friendly reptile and amphibian substrate naturally bacterial and fungal resistant, Coco Husk is also extremely absorbent and can be re-used after a thorough washing in hot water. Totally safe for burrowing or digging animals. Available in 3.6 qt and 7.2 qt bags, or space-saving compressed 7qt Brick. Approx. 1/2" - 3/4" pieces.

How to Prepare the 7qt Brick:
Place the brick in a 2.6-gallon bucket and add 100 fl oz water. Let it soak for about 30 minutes until it completely absorbs. Stir the substrate to ensure that no clumps remain and that the substrate is ready to use.
Directions for Use:
Spread a 1-2" layer of Exo Terra Coco Husk on the terrarium floor (up to 4" when used for burrowing animals or as planting soil). Water or mist the substrate according to the humidity level required and use an Exo Terra Hygrometer (#13367) to monitor the humidity level.
