Fluval Nano Internal Reptile Filter maintains optimal water quality in small setups without taking up valuable living space. Compact design allows discreet in-tank placement while providing essential water movement and filtration. It is the perfect filter solution for herptile biotope habitats where equipment is hidden from sight to preserve a natural appearance.

Fluval Nano Internal Reptile Filter includes a swiveling spray bar with flow-control valve. This versatile feature lets you create gentle rippling streams at the water surface or a trickling "rainfall" effect by adjusting the position of the spray bar. Added water movement aids gas exchange for a healthier herptile habitat. Easy-to-use filter is equipped with media for effective mechanical and biological filtration.

Bio-Foam captures debris and houses nitrifying bacteria and Fine Foam traps small debris. Use optional Carbon Cartridge (sold separately) for chemical filtration that effectively adsorbs odors, discoloration and impurities. The Fluval Nano Internal Reptile Filter is ideal for such aquatic and semi-aquatic herptile habitats as paludariums or viquariums up to 15 gallons. Direction for Use

• Separate Motor Housing from Fluval Nano Filter Case.
• Rinse all filter media (in filtration housing) thoroughly under cold water until water runs clear. Fill filtration housing with water. Reconnect motor and filtration housing.
• Install Fluval Nano. To secure the filter, simply press the suctioned side against clean aquarium glass.
• Adjust swiveling Spray Bar to desired position. Note: Direct Spray Bar outlet towards the water surface. This will provide beneficial surface water movement that ensures proper oxygenation of aquarium water.

Maintenance
Important: Unplug unit before performing maintenance.

To ensure optimum filter performance, regular cleaning of filter and parts is recommended at least every four weeks. Do not use soap, detergents or any other non-recommended cleaning agents around an aquarium. After cleaning, always rinse with cold water. For best results, perform the following maintenance procedures as explained.

Mechanical Filtration Fine Foam
As dirt collects on the Fine Foam, the cartridge will gradually become clogged. Water flow slows and will eventually stop. Periodically rinse the Fine Foam in cold running water to remove large particles. Replace the mechanical Fine Foam every 21 days or as needed.

Chemical Filtration Carbon Cartridge
Carbon loses effectiveness over time. Replace your chemical filtration Carbon Cartridge at least every 21 days. If water flow through the cartridge becomes restricted or odor or water discoloration develops, change the Carbon Cartridge immediately.

Biological Filtration Bio-Foam
The Bio-Foam should not be removed during routine maintenance of other components. Removal can damage the beneficial bacteria colonies. Important note: Do not change the Bio-Foam at the same time that you change the Fine Foam and Carbon Cartridge. This is necessary to preserve the culture of beneficial bacteria growing on the Bio-Foam.

Fluval Nano Bio-Foam

• Separate the Fluval Nano Filter Case from the Motor Housing.
• Remove Bio-Foam and replace with the new one.
• Reattach the Filter Case to the Motor Housing.

Fluval Nano Fine Foam

• Separate the Fluval Nano Filter Case from the Motor Housing.
• Remove Foam Cartridge from the Filter Case.
• Remove the Fine Foam Pad and replace with the new one.
• Replace Foam Cartridge in Filter Case.
• Reattach the Filter Case to the Motor Housing.

Fluval Nano Carbon Cartridge

• Separate the Fluval Nano Filter Case from the Motor Housing.
• Replace top portion of the Bio-Foam with Carbon Cartridge.
• Reattach the Filter Case to the Motor Housing.
