Good cage but needs some redesigning
I bought this cage for my panther chameleon. I love how I can anchor vines around the enclosure, unlike with a screen mesh cage. It's large size allows for a ficus tree and large pothos plant. The longer length gives my chameleon more area to roam, as opposed to a square shaped cage. One of the reasons why I chose this cage was the screening. Not only does he have the tree and vines to climb on, he can also climb anywhere on the screen. That's a much bigger area to climb than with a mesh enclosure. It's nice and open, no stagnant air. It is also much stronger than a mesh enclosure. Ok, now for the Con [just one]: whoever designed this cage wasn't thinking about maintenance. It has the front bottom panel that opens up. That's good. It has the top right panel that opens. That's good. What about the top left corner?? I either have to almost climb into the cage at the bottom and reach up to the top left, or open up the right top and reach all the way over to the left top. The cage is 36 inches long, and four feet tall. This layout has created many aggravating moments. Try to picture trimming the top of the ficus tree on the left top. It's not that easy working on the right side of the cage either, but it's doable. The front upper panel should open to allow access to the top section of the cage. Either that or an opening left side panel at least. Oh, there is another Con. Do not attempt to secure the basking shelf with the clips. Just have someone keep it level and secure it with plastic ties. This will save you a lot of heartache. Other than needing improvement with design, this cage is much better than a mesh screen cage (you will have to cup feed chameleons though). I would recommend it. It's just the design that hinders maintenance that knocks off a star for a 4/5 rating.
