Innovative, 3-in-1 cave provides a humid microclimate for shedding, hiding, or egg laying. The microclimate is much like reptiles would find in burrows, or under rocks and logs in nature, and helps to prevent stress, bad sheds, and egg binding. Many reptiles and amphibians suffer from a lack of humidity in captivity, but this shelter's microclimate provides the humidity your pet needs and, as a result, aids in respiratory function. Durable resin construction allows for easy cleaning and sterilization, while removable lid makes checking on your reptile or eggs quick and simple. Available in 3 sizes to accommodate most pet reptiles.

Small: 6"; for geckos, anoles, small skinks, and snakes. Medium: 8"; for all medium sized lizards and snakes. Large: 12"; for ball (royal) pythons, corn snakes, king snakes, etc.

Instructions for Use
Remove from packaging, and clean using disinfectant for cages and cage accessories, or by washing with dish soap and warm water. After drying with a clean towel, place inside the terrarium. Do not place directly under or over any terrarium heat source.

To create a humid "microclimate," place moistened terrarium moss or similar substrates, like Eco Earth, in the bottom tray of the Shelter and replace lid. Maintain the proper humidity level by periodically misting the substrate.

The Repti Shelter may be used dry by placing the appropriate terrarium substrate into the bottom tray of the Shelter and replacing the lid.

To use the Shelter as an egg-laying chamber, place moistened vermiculite into the bottom tray and replace lid. Periodically check for eggs by lifting lid and inspecting the contents. Consult a good book on your specific reptile or amphibian species to learn more about breeding and successful hatching of eggs.

Cleaning Instructions
Periodically clean your Repti Shelter by removing it from the terrarium, discarding soiled substrate, and disinfecting using a cage or cage accessories disinfectant. Rinse thoroughly and dry with a clean towel. Return the Shelter to terrarium and refill bottom with appropriate substrate.
