Pond filter installation has never been easier. The Lifegard Aquatics Complete Pond Filter System takes the guesswork out of complicated pump and filter selection. Compact, submersible pond filtration system provides mechanical and biological filtration plus the built-in 9-watt UV clarifier helps keep pond water crystal clear. Installs right out of the box and includes 4 interchangeable fountainheads to create a beautiful and soothing water feature. 25 ft power cord. Measures 15" x 15" x 6". The fountain kit is 17" from the fitting to the top of the spray attachment. For ponds and water gardens between 300 and 1,500 gallons.

• Determine the exact place to install the filter. The unique shape of the Pentair Aquatics Complete Pond Filter System makes it stable and easy to place in any pond.
• Connect the Diverter Valve and Ball-joint Leveling Device, the Telescopic Tube, and your choice of Water Nozzle to the outlet of the pump. Turn Diverter Valve to "Closed" position.
• Place the filter on a horizontal surface about four inches from the bottom, away from mud and algae.
• To have a good water jet, the bottom surface must be horizontal and the water jet must be in a vertical position.
• The Pentair Aquatics Complete Pond Filter System is now ready for use. Plug in the power cord to the pump. (NOTE: The power cord to the UV clarifier should only be used when free-floating algae control is required.)

Maintenance
NOTE: Unplug pump and UV clarifier before removing unit from pond and performing any maintenance.

Maintenance is required when the height of the water fountain or pump flow decreases. Usually, maintenance is required every two months.

To Open Filter:
Unscrew the Fountain Assembly, Diverter Valve, and Fitting by turning them counterclockwise. Unlock Filter Housing and open the two sides. NOTE: The Fountain Assembly, Diverter Valve, and Fitting MUST be removed from the pump prior to opening up the Filter Housing.

To Clean Filter:
Open upper lid and remove mechanical Filter Sponge. Wash Filter Sponge with water. Do NOT use solvents or detergents.

To Clean Pump:
If it is necessary to remove the pump, first remove the media and UV Cover. Turn the front housing counterclockwise and then extract the impeller, being careful not to lose any internal parts. Wash the parts with water and check the wear condition by turning the impeller while firmly holding the shaft. The impeller should turn smoothly. Reassemble all parts, paying attention to proper placement of all the components.

To Clean UV Sleeve:
If algae proliferate, it may be necessary to check proper function of UV Bulb. If bulb is functioning, it may be necessary to clean the Quartz Sleeve. To do this, make sure the unit is disconnected (both pump and UV lamp).

• Remove Upper Lid.
• Using a screwdriver, extract the Quartz Sleeve.
• Use rubbing alcohol to remove any buildup of dirt or slime.
• Check that the Quartz Sleeve has not been damaged and replace.

To Change UV Bulb:
For best efficiency, the UV Bulb should be replaced yearly (approximately 9,000 hours of use). Disconnect both pump and UV lamp.

• Remove the Upper Lid.
• Remove the Bulb Lid.
• Using a screwdriver, extract the Quartz Sleeve and UV Bulb and replace with a new one.
• Reassemble all parts, making sure that all gaskets in the Bulb Cap are placed correctly.
