Safety Instructions

Electrical Safety

• Only use with a dedicated power outlet. Sharing the outlet with other equipment may cause over-heating and fire.
• Install the pump in accordance with all applicable safety regulations.
• Do not use without proper grounding or electrical shock may occur.
• Installation to be performed by a qualified electrician.

Power Cord Safety

• Do not use an extension cord.
• Never submerge connecting power cable plug in water.
• Do not tamper with the power cord.
• Do not use an adapter that is not grounded.
• Make sure the power cable does not become bent, twisted, abraded, or cut. Damaged power cable may cause electric leakage, shock, or fire.
• Do not allow power cable to come in contact with heated surfaces.

Installation Safety

• Do not paint casing. Overheating may occur.
• Only lift the pump, using the handle - not by power cord.
• Do not hang water pump in water. Always install on a solid, flat base in upright position.
• Install properly sized outlet adapter for pipe or hose.
• Discharge end of pipe must be above water level.
• Make sure that the power cable plug and power outlet are away from water or discharge pipe or hose.

Operation Safety

• Turn power supply or circuit breaker OFF before connecting power cable plug.
• Do not start pump operation with people near intake or outlet.
• Do not operate when suspended in air.
• Use pump ONLY for circulation, transfer, or removal of water or wastewater. Do not pump oil, saltwater, or liquid chemicals.

Caution

• Do not allow dry operation.
• Do not allow foreign objects to enter intake.
• In case of power outage, turn off power switch to avoid damage when power resumes.
• If excess vibration occurs, turn off power immediately.

Protection System
The motor has a built-in protection system. It stops the pump when overheating occurs due to excess load caused by clogging at inlet or outlet, and when fluctuations in power supply occurs.

Water Level
Never operate below minimum water level of 6" above the base. For continuous operation, a minimum water level of 14" is required.

Pump Storage
When the pump is not in use for an extended period, carefully wash and dry the pump before storing indoors. Do not leave pump outdoors in freezing conditions.
