Works with my pumps in a large pond.
The filter system works with both my bottom sump and side intake pumps in a 7500 gallon koi pond. The net is not as loose as shown in the photo; in fact it closes to a 4 inch opening. I purchased additional square filter pads (black course) and cut them to size to make a "lid' for the filter systems since the net does not fully enclose and small fish and large debris can get caught in the system. Easy to hose off and maintain.

pre filter
My mom is 92 yrs. old and has a small, 800-1000 gal., garden pond. She loves the Koi as do I. However I am the one who maintains the pond for her and ends up spending all my time working on the pond and not visiting with my Mother. I have spent some time thinking about and looking for things that can make my time at Mom's more enjoyable. This pre filter is one of the simplest ideas I have come across that really does help. I am able to pull out the pump rinse the "muck" check the workings and replace. Evan the rope closure helps with re-positioning the pump. Saves me time and stress. Kudos!
