Does a great job even in sub zero temps!
Before I bought the Thermo Pond 100 Watt De-Icer I was using an air pump with 2 air stones which kept a hole in the ice as long as the temperature didn't fall below 10 degrees. With the sub zero temperatures and wind chills of up to 40 below I had to go out to my local farm supply store and buy a de-icer that was 1500 watts. My electric bill went through the roof!
Now I use the Thermo Pond 100 with the air pump and air stones and have not had any problems keeping a hole in the ice, even with the horrible wind chills. My electric bill is back to normal!

Indiana is having worse winter ever and real problems for ponds. Had older de-icer and a air-stone in pond for past 9 years and no lost of fish. This year pond froze over above items and lost 6 big Koi. Ordered a Thermo-Pond De-icer middle of Feb. and put in small area of unfrozen water. As of today, Thermo-Pond is floating freely in open water and no more lost fish. Wish I had ordered this one in the fall.

I order 3 deicer's and they came with in three days of my request. This was a very fast service. Because of the extreme weather we've been getting here in Iowa I am extremely happy with that type of service. I've been able to keep the water open for my fish. Still all in all I wish this lousy weather would leave us. I'm very happy with Foster's and Smith. I've ordered many items in the past from you and I'm very please with your service.
Thank you again Michael

The best choice
I just bought my third Thermo-Pond. My pond is large so uses 2 and the only reason I'm replacing one is because I cut the cord. Keeps a hole in the ice throughout the winter even in the cold spells and at only 100 watts is the cheapest to run.
Even if you forget to put it in your pond before it freezes it is no problem. Just plug it in and set it on the ice. In a day or 2 it will work its way through the ice. Economical and does the job. No need for those expensive de icers.
