Aeration Pumps Male Airline Adapter (1/2" NPT x 3/8" Barb) 3.7 5 3 3

A fine product I had read that some of these pumps are noisy or that they do not pump well enough. Well in my experience, the 40 sized pump works very well and is feeding two sandstones which are bubbling to a large degree. The pump is positioned outside under an artificial rock and when I walk up to the rock it is no more noisy than previous smaller pumps that I have had so that is not a problem noise or volume of air produced. The only thing that was a problem is that it is not easy to find adapters to get from the large output to those of the 1/4" hose and sand stones plus making a T with the water hose adapters was how my T was accomplished. This needs to be worked on but is NOT the pumps fault. November 25, 2011

GOOD VALUE I HAVE BEEN DOING PONDS/FISH FOR MANY YEARS. I HAVE THE 40 AND IT WORKS GREAT. VERY QUITE,PUMPS LOTS OF AIR. I HAVE 7 AIRSTONES AND THE ARE ALL BUBBLING LIKE CRAZY. I HAVE HAD MANY AIR PUMPS,THIS ONE, SO FAR, IS AS GOOD AS THE MORE EXPENSIVE MODELS. MY AIRSTONES ARE BETWEEN 18" AND 36" DEEP. August 13, 2011

TOO LOUD! Just too loud. I can hear it over the sound of my waterfall feature. I did put this on a concrete base as directed. Still no difference. I tried both the 40 model then the 20 with the same poor result. While they do push plenty of air, I simply cannot get past the noise. Sending these back. July 29, 2011

20 Air Pump, CE-34285 , Can this pump be used in areas with freezing temps during the winter?

I live in the Chicago area and need an aerator that can be used outdoors year round, small pond 1500 gallons.

Hi Debra,
I am in Chicago too. I have the 1.41 CFM air pump and have used it through this past winter. Mine was under an artificial rock. The hardest part I find is dealing with the output air hose size and those that get to the silicone air stones. Up until now I have had to fit larger tubes into smaller ones. The after a few weeks come apart at times.
There are proper two barbed reducers but you have to go looking for them online. This winter was mild. My pond is covered in a structural cover that acts as a green house and I use a surface heater anyway. I have used other smaller air pumps through the winter as well but they just had too little volume. The air pump is self heating to an extent but it may be a good idea to wrap some home insulation around it to keep the heat internal as rubber parts used in any pump can harden and crack if they get too stiff. To date the only times pumps have failed on me is in the summer after being through a Winter or two. It is just the hardening of rubber parts which they sell parts to replace. This was NOT the larger pump that you are asking about so far no operational problems.

Thank you for your question. We would not recommend that you leave the Professional Aeration Pump outside during the winter, as it would be too cold for this product to be used.

Thank you for your question. If you purchased your aerator as part of an Aeration Kit (#25409, #12590, or #13258) there is an included gate valve that can be used to regulate air flow. If you have purchased just the aerator, a gate valve can be purchased at a local hardware store. A picture is attached for reference.
