The owl has it's place of importance
My back yard deck sits under a canopy of large oak trees and so the deck floor is constantly requiring a hose down from the birds roosting above it. I anchored ( removable taper pin) the owl on the deck corner hand rail and it works just fine. The first two days, the birds were frantic, but now my deck floor is clean and the birds remain in the trees, but clear of the deck.

great for keeping out pigeons
I wish I'd learned of this product last summer. I have a neighbor who persists in feeding pigeons and I get stuck cleaning up their mess. This owl, with its rotating head, and "hoot" seems to have done a great job in scaring the birds away. I am considering ordering another one to have as "backup" A great investment in maintaining my property value.

This product performs erratically.
While it's a great looking feature to my outdoor pond, the motion sensors do not respond well in shade, and do not work at all at night. And night time is when I have the most problems with predators. The product description should point out that the owl needs bright light for even minimum efficiency.
