I've been buying this red millet for years. It's prozo millet as far as I've heard--though I should inform you that there is a LOT of hybridization in parrot foods. The spray millet we feed our birds is a hybrid variety of both finger (most common in Europe and Africa) and foxtail (much more common in Asia) millets. You can tell by the structure of the seed clusters.
I honestly would not be surprised if the red was both a prozo and siberian hybridized together just like the spray millet.
At the same time...red has a couple % less in protein than either the white prozo or spray millets...I use it very sparingly accordingly.
