Sanded Thermal Perch Small
The small perch is surprisingly quite large but my parakeet loves it. She usually is afraid of anything new but took to this perch right away. Tonight I will plug it in for her since its starting to get cold at night.
Our house is large and gets cool at night. I feel good about this purchase.

Our GCC loves his heated perch. We keep our house rather cool and it gives him a warm spot to sit in his cage especially after his bath. No regrets at all with this purchase and, as always, Drs Foster & Smith offers wonderful quality pet supplies to keep our birdie well spoiled!

I got the sanded thermal perch for my thirteen year old cockatiel. I had noticed him sitting with fluffed up feathers and was concerned that he might be cold, especially at night when I like my room to be cool (his cage is in the bedroom). The perch has a decently long cord and I had no trouble getting the perch to be both plugged in and in the place I wanted within the cage. I put the perch around the upper 1/3 of the cage and in a corner where my bird likes to sleep.
I put some millet above the perch to encourage my bird to approach the perch. Within a week I started to find my bird on the perch when I came home and the millet was quickly gone. It makes me feel better knowing that he has a place to go when he gets cold.
The temperature is warmest at the end/tip of the perch and lowest near the wall of the cage. At no point is the temperature too hot. I regularly touched the perch during the first two weeks and can confidently say that the temperature is maintained consistently and that I have no worry that my bird will be hurt by an overheated perch. The texture of the perch is nice and bumpy without being too rough.
Overall, I am very satisfied. It was worth the money I spent.
