AvianSun Deluxe Floor Lamp, 72" high
I like this lamp for its intensity and ease of use and low wattage
I have been using Avian Sun lamps for my budgerigars for at least eight years in order to provide for my bird full spectrum lighting ( I never let my birds outside) They are convenient and do not use a lot of wattage.

My african grey started sitting under the light the second day that I used it. Easy to put together. Easy on and off switch. The top is adjustable which is great. It was pretty tall but not tall enough for my cage but I just put the base on little platform that I had and its perfect. The base has some weight to it so its fine.

Sunshine in winter
We live in a cold climate , so taking the birds outside for sun during the winter months is impossible . This is a good alternative . I like that it swings around easy so we can just swing it from one cage to another .

The parakeets love it!
I have 6 parakeets - one male and 5 females. I purchased the light because I live in Columbus, OH, which is ranked as the #3 city in the US for most cloudy days. Even with the flight cage in a sunny window location, I was concerned that they just didn't get enough UVB light for best health.
The lamp and bulb arrived well-packed and intact. It was simple to assemble. I didn't even need to look at the instructions for assembly and I am not an accomplished do-it-yourself assembler. The lamp is well made with a heavy base to prevent easy tipping.
I have followed the instructions on light placement for the burn in period and beyond. Within 48 hours all if the birds were more active and vocal. The most visible change has been in my male bird. He has become very amorously in the females. He has a new favorite every day. The females are quite receptive to his overtures as well.
I have also changed their room lights to a UVA nearly-the-same-as- natural-sunlight bulbs. I am very satisfied with the product and highly recommend it to others who have pet birds, but who live in a cloudy area or don't have the best light opportunities for your birds.
