It keeps the touchy lou at bay. The old saying if it looks like a lock and works like a lock! that all anyone needs to know...
For the price of the product it's a simple way to keep that door from being open when you're not around. It's simple in design and made my job to lock-up my bird & snake cages a snap. I like that you don't need a key to unlock lock them. I have a peace of mind that the cages need a little time to open than before if you don't know the trick of this invention. thank you for posting this product on you're web page. It came at a time when I was trying to brain storm how keep the doors close but also not having more keys to play with. Thanks once again foster and smith for this product. It still make me smile when I see them...Thanks

My first purchase had to be replaced because they were broke. Drs. Foster & Smith had no problem doing just that. The new ones arrived sooner than expected and are in great working order. This is one of the many reasons I use Dr.s Foster & Smith when I shop for my fur and feather family members.

For smaller birds, they're great
I bought a couple sets since I have two cages that have four doors each. I wanted to 'lock' one side of doors (2 on each end) and they seem to be doing the job just fine. They were definitely different from what I expected and if I pull too hard or twist them, yes they do open easily. But I have two very sweet and docile parakeets in one cage and finches in the other. Neither of them give the locks and doors a second thought. For smaller birds, they work just fine. For larger birds, I wouldn't recommend them. Larger birds tend to be more clever and interested in what we do as we are managing their environments. The smaller ones, not so much.
