Sunshine Factor 4 oz
I have been recommending this product as a certified veterinary technician with a special interest in avian medicine/veterinary student almost as long as I've been using it--approximately 6 years. The only downsides to Avix/Healx's Sunshine Factor are that it does take a minor amount of time to prepare it for administration or to apply to food and the cost. However, nothing else comes close. I cannot think of any reason--other than a bird being on a diet in which the bulk of what they eat is already omega fatty acid 3 & 6 balanced--why an owner shouldn't use this product. More often, owners resort to trying it when other methods aren't working and I have seen so many success stories! My own parrotlet who had a congenital liver issue and was a plucker not only maintained liver enzyme values within normal limits while on Sunshine Factor (in conjunction with another treatment), but despite being a frequent plucker her feathers were never malformed, her skin was supple, and her feathers always grew back. I use it on all my birds because I myself have such a stressful life and despite taking excellent care of my birds, I know that they experience of trickle-down effect of sorts with respect to that stress. I've had much healthier and seemingly happier birds since implementing this as a regular part of their diet. I cannot say enough wonderful things about red palm oil for parrots and especially Sunshine Factor! I apply it to small quantities of their dry food at regular intervals, seal the food, and store it in the fridge/freezer. I've not noticed that my birds are any more reluctant nor willing to eat with the Sunshine Factor. Drs. Foster and Smith offer this product at a very reasonable price, too.

my vet recommended this specific product by name as being the best red palm oil for my ringneck. i was afraid he might not like it and was going to administer thru syringe. once he got a taste of it he loves it. when he sees me put the bottle in the warm water he gets very excited and yells"yeay". i am noticing a difference in his coloration ,the softness of his feathers.he looks brighter than before.
