CaribSea Caribbean Live Sand Fine Oolite Substrate 20 lbs
This grain size worked great for my 75 gallon reef tank. I liked the fact that you paid for sand only and not water weight.I did not experience over clouding during installing.I have 2 mp 10 pumps and the grain size seems to work with this set up. I am on my second week of cycling and I have nitrites and nitrates.I am also using special blend bacterial to aid the cycle.

This product does not affect the bio cycle
I was skeptic about removing the remainder of my crush corral and add a full bed of the sand, because I thought it could have affected the bio in my fish tank and killed my fish and corrals. After I removed all my corrals, live rock, fish and finally the crush corral, I placed the sand on my tank. After three to four hours of the water clearing, I started placing the live rock, then the corrals, and finally the fish. Seems like the fish and corrals were NOT affected by the new sand and within an hour of placing everything back in the tank, I was able to feed the fish and they seem to eat normally. It has been two weeks now, and I didn't loose any fish or corrals and the quality of water has improved. I should have use this product from the beginning of setting my tank.

CaribSea Caribbean Live Sand worked great for me
I was replacing sand in an established fish only with live rock in a 55 gallon tank. Took the rock out and took out old sand. Put the rock back in and then added new sand in the same afternoon. It was very cloudy at first, but 24 hours later tank was clear and it was so nice to have clean white sand. Probably not the best idea to leave the fish in the tank during this process, but it worked for me. One months later, sand is still white and fish are doing well.
