• To flatten your background and further simplify installation, you may wish to roll the background in the opposite direction of the paper roll upon which it is packaged. This step is not necessary, but you may find it helpful.
• Separate the aquarium background from its paper roll.
• Place the background's image side against your aquarium back. You may wish to have an assistant help you center the image.
• Remove the aquarium background from your aquarium and trim any excess you wish to eliminate.
• Once you've finalized your background size, smooth the image side of the aquarium background against your aquarium glass with your hand. Whether you start from the middle and work toward the edges, or start at one side and work towards the opposite side, move your hand in a sweeping motion using even pressure.
• If you wish, you can use a plastic card (i.e. a credit card) or a plastic ruler to push any trapped air bubbles out to the edges. This will help create the absolute smoothest surface possible. Take care not to damage your aquarium background.
