Arctica Titanium Chillers 1/10 HP
6 yrs and running
I purchased the 1/2 hp version 6 yrs ago. It has been keeping the water at a constant 68F since. I have gone as low as 58. It is quiet, easy to operate, and runs very little on my insulated tank. It will heat up a small room and needs to be vented like an AC unit. I just bought another as a backup.

This things works great. The only issue is the largest barb connector supplied with this is 0.75". I run a 1" line and had to use a 1.25" rubber coupling to a 1.25" to 1" barb to attach my 1" hose. Had to stretch a short piece of tubing over the chiller nipples after Teflon taping to keep it from leaking when adding the rubber coupling. The flow seems to have doubled now, as I run my sump return line for the main 140 gallon tank circulation with a Sicce Syncra 10 pump.
I have asked the manufacturer three times what size are the nipples so I can buy the correct size female socket to 1" barb and I've gotten no answer. It is metric and probably 30mm? It's hard to find metric PVC fittings here in the US. This would be a more permanent connection. A 1" barb connection should also be supplied in the box.

Quality Product, Easy Installation
I'm using a 1/10HP on a 72 gallon tank. Keep in mind this unit cannot be installed in an enclosed cabinet. Keep mindful of the size, I had to location mine in the basement under my setup ( I planned for it), so it took me a bit of time routing the piping. The installation of the chiller was easy and trouble free. It has no problems keeping the tank cool. I'm running a QuietOne 4000 pump, located in my sump, piped down to the basement and back up to the tank with the chiller in line. This is my main system pump. Given the extra head distance of the basement install, I'm figuring it is running 700 gph (rated for 991 @ 0 feet, 712@4'). Some of the other makes have heater control outlet built in, this one does not, so be sure to check your heater set point so your not heating and cooling at the same time. I'm running mine through a Apex Jr controller to prevent this from occurring.

Using the 1/15 HP on my 90 gallon and works like a charm! Only kicks on a few times a day and is VERY quiet.
