Thrive Aquatics Thrive 2 Calcium
Directions: Determine the calcium in the aquarium before supplementing. For best results, obtain a customized Thrive Prescription at your local fish store or at www.ThriveAquatics.com based on your current tested parameters.
If not using Thrive Analytics in store or at home:
DO NOT OVERDOSE: Your saltwater reef aquarium is a delicately balanced system. Calcium greater than 500 ppm may damage equipment and increase the loss of alkalinity, magnesium, and strontium. Do not directly mix with any alkalinity, magnesium, or strontium supplement. Do not raise calcium more than 50 ppm per day.
If not using a Thrive Prescription: Add 1 ml per 5 gallons daily until the desired calcium is obtained. Then dose daily as needed to maintain calcium at 380 to 450 ppm. Dosing without testing with Thrive Analytics is not recommended.
Advanced directions: Each ml of calcium will increase the calcium in 1 gallon of water by 52 ppm. Add Calcium at a maximum rate of 1 ml per 2 gallons daily until your target calcium is reached. Then dose daily or weekly as needed. Daily dosing may increase coral growth.
Caution: If swallowed, give water and get medical attention. May cause eye or skin irritation. If in eyes, flush with water for 15 minutes, get medical attention. If on skin, wash thoroughly with water. Keep from freezing. Keep out of the reach of children. Do not use bottle for drinking water.

Q. Why do we need Calcium?
A. Stony corals use calcium in combination with carbonate and strontium to form their skeletons. Soft corals use calcium to form sclerites that strengthen their base. Some algae such as coralline also use calcium to form.
