Julian Sprung's Reef Formula Calcium Concentrate rapidly raises the calcium concentration when the alkalinity level is already high. Also simultaneously lowers the alkalinity level, bringing both closer to a natural seawater ratio. When the calcium and alkalinity levels are properly balanced, stop using Calcium Concentrate, and continue using a balanced ion supplement such as Kalkwasser or C-Balance, which maintain alkalinity in addition to calcium concentration. Phosphate-, nitrate- and silicate-free. For marine aquariums. Add 1 tsp per 10 gallons.

Dosage
Add 1 capful (5 ml = 1 tsp) per 10 gallons to raise the calcium level approximately 50 mg/L. The effect on calcium concentration by a dosage depends on the alkalinity level, because high alkalinity causes a precipitation of some of the calcium dosed. Use a calcium test kit and an alkalinity test kit to monitor these parameters and determine the quantity of Calcium Concentrate needed to achieve the desired calcium level. Natural seawater at a specific gravity of 1.025 has a calcium level of approximately 400 mg/L and an alkalinity of 8 dkH. To promote coral growth the calcium level should be maintained above 350 mg/L and the alkalinity should be maintained between 8 and 12 dkH.
Caution
Add to a strong current stream for rapid distribution in the water. Do not mix with other supplements in a dosing reservoir. Keep at room temperature. Shelf life is 5 years.
Ingredients
Reverse Osmosis Purified Water, Calcium Chloride.
Contains no Phosphates, Nitrates, or Silicates. |
| Calcium Reactors | | In nature, seawater bathes coral reefs in many minerals and elements. Calcium reactors automate the process of replenishing calcium as well as other minerals and trace elements. |
| | Calcium Supplements | | One of the most important aspects of proper reef care is calcium supplementation. Calcium is vital for the health and growth of corals and plays a crucial role maintaining high pH needed in marine systems. |
| | Pros & Cons of Calcium Reactors | | As calcium supplementation has become more automated, one of the more sophisticated means of achieving the desired goal is the use of the calcium reactor. |
| | Simplify Calcium Supplementation | | In nature, a steady supply of calcium is available to reef inhabitants from a variety of sources. In the reef aquarium, calcium must be added with calcium sipplements. A calcium reactor is an excellent delivery system for these supplements. |
