Aqua Medic Defroster+ 6" x 3-9/16" x 3-3/4" high (Mfg# 68000)
Works much better than my home-made version. The unit is self contained and so is the mess. Very little food is lost through the strainer. Easy to defrost frozen food. I have defrosted Brine, Mysis, Crab and a few other frozen foods in it. Put food in strainer cup, place the strainer cup in the container, add water. When food is defrosted, lift strainer cup and rest on container edge to allow drip off. Then add food to tank. Dump waste water down the drain. Rinse unit off when done. No more cloud when adding food to tank. Only product like this is at Drs Foster&Smith. My only concern is that AquaMedic use a plastic straining mesh. Not sure how long it will last. A few of the stands were broken upon arrival but has not impacted its performance. Would suggest to manufacturer to implement a fine hole laser drilled stainless steel stainer.

Great tool for feeding frozen foods
I really like this product. I feed frozen foods almost exclusively to both my freshwater and saltwater tanks, and have used several different products that aid in defrosting the foods in water to remove the foods liquid wastes.
This defroster does all of that, but like every other defrosting tool I've used it is not best suited for defrosting brine shrimp. I've yet to come across a product that doesn't trap some of the smaller shrimp in the straining process. However, you can remedy this issue by purchasing an inexpensive brine shrimp fine mesh net and placing it inside the food tray while it defrosts.
My only other (minor) issue is that I wish the container could hang onto the lip of the aquarium (For example, how a fish container/bagger does). This would be a huge added bonus.
Overall, this is a great product that I haven't seen anywhere else other than Drs. F&S!
